He found himself in Ostrava by coincidence, but he came twice. The first time he was brought here in 2022 by the Erasmus programme, the second time he went to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of VSB-TUO on purpose. The scientific team from the Department of Machining, Assembly and Engineering Metrology, which works with additive technologies at the Protolab 3D Printing Centre, can celebrate a huge publication success. Their paper, published two years ago in Polymers magazine, won the prestigious Best Paper Award 2023.
Using additive technologies, they can custom-make a protective half-mask, missing component parts, dentures or a scooter frame. This year, however, the experts at the Protolab 3D Printing Centre at the Department of Machining, Assembly and Engineering Metrology at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at VSB-TUO decided to overcome another challenge - to significantly improve the surface properties of metal prints.
In the first week of November, Prague hosted two major political events on the occasion of the Czech Presidency. The strategic meetings of the ministerial officials of the EU member states were enriched by the VSB – Technical University of Ostrava, whose representatives brought to the capital a demonstration of what has been developed at Czech universities in the field of 3D printing and robotics.
